  I have read most of the comments about this transfer and tried to leave one , lots of people loved spaces myself included, it was much more personal and not so cluttered as WP which, if I may say , has so many bells and whistles it that it takes a day to get your head round it, and it’s not nearly so pretty, but I’ll persevere as I [we] apparently have no choice.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Just to be clear you do have a choice, you can export your blog from WordPress and move it somewhere else. Microsoft are just giving you the <i>ability</i> to move to WordPress.

  Spend a day staring at your dashboard here clicking every button a dozen or so times to see what it does. You’ll stop banging your head on the screen by the end of the week.

  Maybe you should set up a test blog before you follow pornstarbabylon’s advice! It is very easy to create another blog, set it to private, and play away.

  Would it be cruel to point out we do not offer emotional support in the tech support forum?

  Microsoft gave you an offer you can’t refuse: either move to WP.com or lose everything.

  Several people are mad at WordPress.com because Microsoft dumped them – they really should be mad at M/S not WP.

  Well-put. I can’t believe ANY responsible blogging platform could be built and marketed without something as basic as an exporter.

  It is an potion under the settings->Privacy menu. In English the option to select is “I would like my blog to be private, visible only to users I choose”.

  Sorry to answer in English, I can rad a little French but not write it.
