Went to rename blog, accidentally deleted it.
-
Hey! I created a blog on here but I wanted to remove it from this e-mail and transfer it to another address. Until now (after scouring google for hours!!) I didn’t realise you could actually just transfer the name over to someone else, so instead I went to rename the website to free the URL for me. Stupidly, I assumed that the “once you delete it you can’t use it again” would just apply to me on this email address, not someone else, and now I’m at a loss. I know I can make another blog with a similar username but I already had my heart set on this one and I’m wondering if there was any way I could retrieve it back onto this account?
I’ve tried looking through the forum but people’s replies verged on the “you were given plenty of warning”/ “it’s difficult to accidentally delete it” and it didn’t help me one bit.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Oh and the blog name I accidentally deleted was catchthetradewind.wordpress.com, the “draft” was the one I changed it to.

Everyone says once it’s deleted it cannot be used again by anyone.
One possible (but not free) workaround would be to register a domain name (and catchthetradewind.com is available) then pay WordPress to to let you use that domain name with your WordPress blog (whose name need not be known to anyone but you). -
I did think so, I’m just so annoyed with a) myself for deleting it and not realising I could do something else and b) for it not being specific enough that no body else could use the blog name. I’d register a domain name if I could afford to but… Neveremind eh. Obviously wasn’t meant to be unless a WordPress administrator could do anything for me!

Furthermore, on the support site for deleting blogs it says that “You will receive an email with a confirmation link. If you are absolutely sure you want to delete your site, click on the link.” – I never received or clicked on a confirmation e-mail….
