What am I doing wrong?
-
I have this site, but wanted to change the name – which I should have done in the domain-name change. I am TRYING to get Van Gogh’s Table list pages like this one …
https://bluedogcafeyreposteria.wordpress.com/
But it will NOT list the pages no matter what I try. Nothing changes.
Anyway to get Bluedog cafe changed to van gogh’s table now. I am way beyond frustrated
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi guerro,
Assuming that you are talking about your site located at bluedogcafeyreposteria.wordpress.com, it appears that you’re using the Orvis theme.
To change the name of your site please follow these steps from your WordPress.com site dashboard:
1) Click the “Customize” button in Themes.
2) Click on “Site Identity”.
3) You will see an option for the “Site Title”.
4) Change it to “Van Gogh’s Table” or anything else you like.
5) Make sure the “Display Site Title and Tagline” checkbox is checked.
6) Click “Save & Publish”Your site’s title should now have changed throughout the site.
If you have already attempted these steps and it is still not working please let us know and we’ll continue investigating for you.
Hope it works!

The problem is that I already created a new blog with the name change I wanted, so if I delete it, I can never get it back. My bad, I know.
Yes, I’m talking about the BlueDogCafe blog. I had no issues at all creating the pages and such, but cannot do it again no matter what I try. I’m hoping I can just rename the blue dog blog with vangoghstable.
Too late? I don’t now why it just won’t do anything I try. I cannot create one single page to show up on the side, and then nest them one under another, like in bludogcafe.
I’m slamming my head against the wall here

Hi guerro,
I’m sorry you’re frustrated and I hope I can help ease some of that frustration! Please let me know if I’m understanding your request correctly so that I can help you in a more effective manner:
You have two sites. One is bluedogcafeyreposteria.wordpress.com and the other is vangoghstable.wordpress.com. You are trying to reproduce the content from bluedogcafeyreposteria and populate it in vangoghstable.
Is this correct?
If so, you can use the Export/Import tool within WordPress.com to move your content from one site into another. You will want to empty content from vangoghstable first so that you don’t copy duplicates.
First take an export of vangoghstable and bluedogcafeyreposteria by following this guide:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/export/Once you have a backup of content from both sites, empty your content from vangoghstable:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/empty-site/Now import your bluedogcafeyreposteria content into vangoghstable:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/import/Optionally, you can also add a site redirect to automatically redirect visitors to your new site:

Not working, so I need to give this up. No cash to pay for the guide. I really appreciate your time on this, regardless.
I just can’t make it work. I have no issues with my main blog, or when I put Blue Dog together. The Vangogh’stable just doesn’t want to exist at all.
Cheers

I reached the point of no return and just deleted both blogs.
Thank you for the helping hands, though.

I still have the file I -exported- good for a few more days, but when I drag and drop, it says ‘this is not a proper WX something file, and I can’t get it to work. I can start a new blog for the cafe, but I’ll probably have the same problems. I had no issues setting up the first one ‘Bluedog Cafe’ with the ovis theme, or whatever it’s called (orvis?) but the second one just would not work for me. I could not create a single page.
I’d like to try again, cuz I need this for clients. Any ideas? Even if I cant import, and have to put everything back, I’m okay with that. I just can’t get it to work AT ALL. If there is a better theme for menus, I’m happy to try that too, but I need lots of pages because I have lots of stories to put in – history of coffee, history of crepes, and so on, plus all the photos and explanations of the dishes, which where I live they are uncommon, so they need the explanation.
I’ve been a WP blogger abut 10 years now, and this is the first time I have had such a frustrating brick wall.
Any help is appreciated!!

Also, this will likely eventually become a website that can support ads and a pay options, so it will upgrade. But I need to start simple to make sure it flies.

I found this …

This looks very cool!! Maybe too many to choose from. I’ll take a few days to look through them and figure this out. Maybe it was a good thing the other try failed miserably. These look really good.
Any thoughts?

My thought is that this thread has trundled on far too long needs to be tagged for Staff intervention.
There is a queue for importer use. We wait for 24 hours and if the import is not complete we contact Staff.
Hopefully you removed unmoderated and spam comments and emptied the trash prior to creating the XML export file.
Sometimes the importer gets stuck. If the file is large you may have to import Posts, Pages, etc. in separate files. Or if the file is very large Staff may have to do the import.
I tagged this thread with modlook for Staff help for you. Please subscribe to it so you are notified when they respond. To subscribe look in the sidebar of this thread, find the subscribe to topics link and click it.
