My Dr Ninja post has white text instead of black text like my other posts
Would you please tell me what I need to change, so the above issues are fixed?
How do I find the color of the Top cap? I think it is called canyn green maybe?

Hello there,
Happy to help you with this.
Now one of my posts called San Rafel does not show a summary on the home page
It looks like this post has excerpt with just the words: San Rafel Swell . You may wish to remove this to produce the summary.

My Dr Ninja post has white text instead of black text like my other posts
For some reason, this post has HTML which is making that text white. https://d.pr/i/8Do6tx I don’t see that HTML in other posts.
Was this copied and pasted in from outside of WordPress.com?
How do I find the color of the Top cap? I think it is called canyn green maybe?
It looks like that’s correct name and the hex code for that is: #00d084
I hope this helps.

Hi there,
My Dr Ninja post has white text instead of black text like my other posts
Did you copy the contents of your Dr Ninja post from the identical post you have on hryrhino2020testing.wordpress.com perhaps?
I noticed that on that site the text is white, which is fine because the site background is a different color (green) so it shows up. However, if you copy the contents to brainbombsandchronicpain.wordpress.com, that white text formatting comes along for the ride. This is a bit of an issue since that site has a light background (so white text does not show up)
My websites to learn from post also has some white letters it was also written on WordPress.com
This is the same issue as above. I have manually remove the formatting since it does not seem to be possible to remove it in the editor. Can you confirm that both your Dr Ninja post and your My websites to learn from page appear to be correct now? You should not see white text at this point.
Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.

I took a look at that page and at previous revisions. It looks like you had specified the white color when editing the page. And when you changed themes the colors stayed as specified.
I can see you’ve switched it back now — do you need more help?

Yes, both appear to be correct. Thanks.
Is the default font color in the site title white for this theme? If so how can I change the color for free without CSS? Maybe I will need to find a header image that has darker colors.
If it is possible can a header image be a solid color? If yes please explain how to do that.
Would someone please look to see how I created page jumps on my posts or pages and explain how to create page jumps on new posts and pages. I know about the page jump support article, but I do not understand how to make page jumps from reading it.

I noticed in my drafts section I have one that says copy Dr Ninja can I delete that? I am guessing a staff member added that.

Hi there,
I noticed in my drafts section I have one that says copy Dr Ninja can I delete that? I am guessing a staff member added that.
Yes you can delete that. I made a copy of your post so I could troubleshoot the text color issue (without working on the actual blog post itself) thanks!
Is the default font color in the site title white for this theme? If so how can I change the color for free without CSS? Maybe I will need to find a header image that has darker colors.
The default color for the Independent publisher theme is medium to dark grey (depending on if it is body text or headings) as you can see in the demo here: https://independentpublisher2demo.wordpress.com/
The only way to change text color without CSS is to use the text color controls in the blocks themselves as you seem to have done so far. The shortcoming of doing it this way is that it “hard codes” the color into the text. That is why when you try to paste from anther source (even another WordPress.com site) or change themes on your current site the text does not automatically adjust itself to it’s new surroundings. All the text knows is that in the block settings you have specified that it be white, no matter what.
My take on this is that it’s best to use the block settings for text color occasionally (for emphasis perhaps) but the best way the make a site-wide change to the text color is to do so via CSS, as that is easily changed or reversed if you switch themes down the road.
If it is possible can a header image be a solid color? If yes please explain how to do that.
That is not directly possible in the theme settings, but what I have seen other site owners do is use a “header image” that is just a graphic with a solid color. Say you want a teal header, you can create a graphic on your computer (or may be able to find one online) that is solid teal, and upload that as your “header image”
Would someone please look to see how I created page jumps on my posts or pages and explain how to create page jumps on new posts and pages. I know about the page jump support article, but I do not understand how to make page jumps from reading it.
You are referring to the option to return to the top? The best way to set one of those up is to add a button to the bottom of your page, and for the link URL, instead add a hashtag (#) symbol. On websites that simply causes the page to re-load, which will always start the page from the top again.
You can see what I mean in the video here: https://d.pr/v/QyWQru
Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.

The reason I was asking about the color of the text in the header image is when I look at my site the text is white. Is that the color it is supposed to be?
What do I need to do to make the space between the send the email and the top button bigger?
In the recent brainbombs section on the sidebar, some title text is a different color than the others. How do I make them the same?
Thanks.

The reason I was asking about the color of the text in the header image is when I look at my site, the text is white. Is that the color it is supposed to be?
Yes, that is expected.
If you go to My Site>Design>Customize>Colors&Backgrounds and click on Palettes, you will see some colorful circles there. Clicking on each will tell you what color it is responsible for. You can there change the color of the desired elements.
Not all themes allow you to change the same elements.
If what you want to change is not in there, then you’d need custom CSS for global changes. What do I need to do to make the space between the send the email and the top button bigger?
I’m not sure which exact buttons are you referring to but, in a post or a page, you can add the Spacer Block, which will add additional space between two blocks:
https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/spacer-block/.
In the recent brainbombs section on the sidebar, some title text is a different color than the others. How do I make them the same?
The only title that will have a different color is the active one. So, if you open one of the posts from there, it will be marked with a different color so that you know you are currently visiting this link.
I’m afraid that’s now something you could change without CSS. -

Please look at the screenshot link I see two different colors of links

I have white text on my header, not a grey color like the demo how do I change the color, so my header text is grey, not white? Shouldn’t that be possible without CSS?
In my drafts, I have a page that has my posts as columns if I want to use that as my homepage how would I do so? It is untitled in my draft folder and if I want to make it my homepage I don’t want a title.
Thanks.

Hi there,
Please look at the screenshot link I see two different colors of links
That’s what staff-mckluskey explained to you above. Visited links will have a different color than the rest. This means that you have clicked on those links and your browser now displays them in a different color. That’s normal behavior.
I have white text on my header, not a grey color like the demo how do I change the color, so my header text is grey, not white? Shouldn’t that be possible without CSS?
That will require some CSS code. It’s not possible to change that through the Customizer.
In my drafts, I have a page that has my posts as columns if I want to use that as my homepage how would I do so? It is untitled in my draft folder and if I want to make it my homepage I don’t want a title.
You need to publish that page and then set it as your site’s static homepage by following these instructions:
-
The only title that will have a different color is the active one. So, if you open one of the posts from there, it will be marked with a different color so that you know you are currently visiting this link.
Does that mean more than one of the links can be a different color at the same time? I may have misunderstood.
Thanks.
-
Yes and No, in a way.
It is standard procedure in most code bases to give links different colors according to their state. This means links will have a general starting color which will change when you passing through the link (:hover), clicked on it (:visited), you are on the link (:active) and other states . This is all set up in the CSS styles and if you dont declare these colors your links will stay one color probably inherited from the theme (if the theme does not specify these pseudo classes ) nomater the state. But you can also get specific and give your diffent links different colors if its a personal preference .
-
Just to clarify, too:
I have white text on my header, not a grey color like the demo how do I change the color, so my header text is grey, not white? Shouldn’t that be possible without CSS?
Where are you seeing that? I don’t see it currently.

Where are you seeing that? I don’t see it currently.
It is when I use a header image that I removed to check what my site would look like without a header image.
I have the header image on my site again.

I see both a follow blog widget and one to use the following using email. Do I need both or do they do the same thing?

Hi there,
I see both a follow blog widget and one to use the following using email. Do I need both or do they do the same thing?
They essentially do the same thing outside of two notable differences:
– You can add the follow button to external sites outside of WordPress.com.
– The follow button requires the user to have a WordPress.com account and adds them as an email follower, but they can always go into their settings and get notified of your posts via web notifications/Reader as well. The follow blog widget allows WordPress.com users to click the button and get added as a follower just like the follow blog button. However, additionally, if you are not a WordPress.com user, you’ll see a field to add your email address so you can follow that way as well. For more information on both features, please check out their respective support pages:
