What am I signing up for?

    All I want is to read Mnt Goat’s newsletters. I have been doing so for many years. Now I find myself selecting a domain? Why? I just want to read the newsletter. Nothing else. I don’t seem to be able to to cancel what I started. I thought I had to have an account to access her site. So I did enter some info, but then I became suspicious about what I was getting into. Please help me. Linda

    You’re posting here using a brand new WordPress.com username account that you created only a few minutes before this forum post. So what you’ve signed up for is a free username account, and a free site with us.

    It looks like you created this account in the process of signing up to email notifications on the site, http://mntgoatnewsusa.com/. If that’s all you want, you don’t need to do anything else aside from verifying the subscription via an email we would have sent you at the time. Your WordPress.com account and site are both completely free, and you won’t be charged for anything unless you explicitly buy one of our paid upgrades.

    However, if you don’t want this account, you can cancel your account (which will also delete the site), from the account settings page at https://wordpress.com/me/account

    Then you can use your email address to again sign up directly to that site. Just make sure when you get to the page prompting you to create an account that you click the option to skip that, and follow the site via email only.
