What are ALL the clicks?

  • I hate to mention it, but Windows XP was considered end-of-life by Microsoft 5 years ago: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/14223/windows-xp-end-of-support

That means your computer is no longer receiving updates for security vulnerabilities. It also means that all major browsers haven’t updated on your computer for years as well, introducing even more unpatched security vulnerabilities.

I understand the allure of “it’s working fine for me,” but under the hood, it very much is not.

As for our end, we can only guarantee support for the past 2 version of each browser (find the latest versions at https://browsehappy.com/ ). In other words, we can no longer guarantee support for any browsers that still runs under Windows XP.

I strongly recommend updating to a modern OS and using a modern browser.

The My Sites choose-a-site stats page DOES give the total number of clicks.
The situation has now become clear.

Your stats page gives View All, mine does not.
My site gives the total day’s number of clicks, yours does not.
I am no longer worried. Perhaps macmanx can explain, for your benefit.

I never use the wp-admin except for something I cannot find elsewhere.
There is supposed to be something called a dashboard, but nothing leads me to it.
In the same way nothing leads to the forum, but by some chance in a roundabout way I found it and bookmarked it — no doubt hundreds of users want to use the forum but cannot find it.
My problem is solved, thanks for your help.

If everyone else is seeing a View All option that you are not, it means one of two things:

    1. You don’t have enough Clicks for the View All to be necessary, therefore it does not appear.

    2. Your browser is too old to support the JavaScript used in our stats interface and cannot render the page properly. We only support the browser versions listed at https://browsehappy.com/ and just one version behind those. So, for example for Firefox, we can only support Firefox 68 and 67.

There is supposed to be something called a dashboard, but nothing leads me to it.

    Follow this guide: https://en.support.wordpress.com/dashboard/

In the same way nothing leads to the forum

We don’t directly link to the forum anywhere because we prefer that folks go through https://wordpress.com/help/contact

This will lead you to the best support experience that your plan allows.

Live Chat support for anyone with a paid Personal plan or higher, Email support for anyone with a paid Blogger plan, and the forums for anyone on a free plan.

Thank you for your advice. I would have to buy another computer if I wish to instal a later and inferior OS, and find room for it, just for the site. Then keep transferring all the data for the site from the other. For all else, my XP works well and includes many, many programmes that I use that will not work with the later inferior versions. Even win 10 will soon go out of date and there is no end to it! On my computer I even have a very old version of Opera installed which I never use, but which by simply being there enables me to use their very useful widgets that will not work in any other way. To say good-bye to old trusty and faithful friends just to please Bill Gates is not my wish or intention. Firefox, at your suggestion of trying another browser, can be used when necessary to solve my problem.
I do not ask you to support my browser. I appreciate your concern which I believe to be disinterested as well as the concern of Microsoft who are definitely not.
