What are: Prompts? Pingbacks? WHERE are the Prompts? How to link to them?

Dear Team WordPress.com, am a Happy user of Yours, and Thanks.
My Question:
In the Daily Prompt, You give us the following: ‘Comments are always closed on prompts. Pingbacks are enabled; if you link to the prompt post on your blog, your post will appear in the list below the prompt.’

What you are referring to is the commenting policy over at this blog, https://dailypost.wordpress.com, is that right?
When the blog ‘The Daily Post’ posts their ‘Daily Prompt’, the post’s creators choose not to have that particular post open for comments, meaning no one can leave a comment on it. You can learn more about closed comments here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/enable-disable-comments/
The blog is however allowing pingbacks, meaning that the creators of the ‘Daily Prompt’ post will be notified that you have linked to that individual post on your blog. So, you write a blog post on your blog, refer to a specific ‘Daily Prompt’ post in your writing, make sure that reference features a link to that post, and then once you publish your post, the ‘Daily Prompt’ get a notification that you created a link to them in your blog: a ‘pingback’. You can learn more about ‘pingbacks’ here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/comments/pingbacks/
The ‘pingbacks’ that the blog The Daily Post receives on the ‘Daily Prompt’ are listed on the post itself. You can find the listing of all the ‘pingbacks’ that post has received on the section of the page that is found below the social sharing buttons, related article links, and tags etc. There, instead of comments you can see a list of blogs that have linked to the post.
Hopefully that clear that up for you!
