What are the details regarding the guided transfer?

  Hi! I’m thinking about switching my wordpress.com site into a wordpress.org site (so that I can use google analytics), and I’m probably going to purchase a guided transfer. My main question is whether my wordpress.com site will still be available to access online during this transfer. Also, I was wondering if I have to buy a new domain name even though I own my current domain name (daniellethomsen.com). Lastly, it is possible to speak with someone over the phone to answer questions, etc.? Thanks!

  Hi Danielle,

  Yes, your current site will be online throughout that transfer.

  You do not need to purchase a new domain, though due to the way domain names work, there will be a couple hour period where visitors may see either your old site or your new site.
