What are the limitations of the free account?

I can’t seem to find this in the documentation (which appears geared toward the standalone package and not the wordpress.org accounts): What are the limitations of the wordpress.org accounts? :-)

I ask because there are a few things I’d like to do, such as use the PHP antispambot(get_the_author_email()) code, and alter the CSS of the style that I’m using. Is that possible with the free online account?

On WordPress.com you cannot edit templates, upload plugins, etc. It is intended for people who want to blog without worrying about that stuff. If you want to do what you describe you should get a paid account with a WordPress web host.

Here’s my question, I noticed yahoo hosting for wordpress but what I can’t seem to find is if they allow me to upload my own templates and plugins.

There are two things I really loved about running wordpress on my box at home, I had a plugin to do voting polls, and then I had a plugin that would allow subscriptions so my friends would get notified on an update.

Not to mention I ran google analytics and got geographical information on my viewers.

If I could do this with yahoo, I’d be one happy camper.. if yahoo doesn’t allow it, who does? and for the best price..

Yahoo allows you to modify your WP install just like yours at home.

Is there any place one could read what differs between the free hosting and the others in terms of features and functionality?

well, how about that. Maybe saying you cannot actually EDIT the template etc right up front would be a good thing.

Not if you want people to sign up, it’s not. And I’m guessing they want people to sign up ;)

What are the default file size and graphics storage limitation differences between what I’ve installed and WordPress.com?
