What can I expect if I would like to update my plan
-
Hello,
I would like to ask, if I would like to update my plan, is that affect the present content of my site? I mean will the blog post and uploaded pictures will stay as they are?
And with the updated domain, every single post URL will change automatically? And if I’ve shared my posts in the past somewhere that link with the old domain will transfer the ppl who click on them to the post with the new domain or how it works? What can I expect?
And if I’ll start on a plan, but I would like to upgrade to a next level in less than a year, how the payments will be? I mean in the description I’ve found that I have to pay for the plans in one payment for 12 months, but what happens if I upgrade to the next level in less than a year?
Thank you so much!

Hi holywhisk,
Upgrading to a plan should not have an affect the content of your site. The url of your posts will be changed automatically.
Your previous wordpress.com domain will still be active, so anyone who clicks an old link will be forwarded to your new domain. All plans are a yearly subscription and there is a 30 day refund period.
You can find out more information about pricing and plans here: https://wordpress.com/pricing/
and more information about subscriptions here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/auto-renewal/Hope this helps

Hello!
Nope! This should not effect any content on your site. All your content will stay as they are. All changes will be automatic and should work the same as before. You can find more information on this at: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/#important-notes-before-upgrading
https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/WordPress does not offer prorated rates. All refunds on WordPress.com are time limited. WordPress.com does provide a 30-day refund from date of purchase on all upgrades. But this does not include Domain Registrations, Domain Renewals, and Guided Transfers. Domain Registrations and Renewals have a refund window of 48 hours. If you have already canceled your plan your refund should be sent 7 – 14 business days after the initial request was made.
https://en.support.wordpress.com/refunds/It would be best to look at what the plans have to offer and select the best suited one for your needs now, rather than select one and upgrade within the next 12 months. More information can be found on that here:

Thank you guys!
So basically we can say, that if I upgrade everything will be the same, and I can expect that the old links will still work and transfer the ppl who click on them to the post with the new personal domain. How long this forwarding will be active?
And about the upgrade, I should think about what I will need at least in the next 12 month cause if I notice that I will need to upgrade -over 30 days- for example because I’ll need more storage, I won’t get any refund form the previous payment. Is that correct?
Thank you so much!

Hi there.
Regarding the upgrade, you will only pay the difference between the plan you have and the plan you are upgrading to and the expiration date will be reset.
you can check this information on this thread here https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/domain-mapping-almost-impossible-to-understand-how-it-works?replies=4#post-2874012
I hope that helps
