What CSS to use to remove page titles on a Twenty-Sixteen theme?

    I am asking this for the jonathanalter.com site, which is a WP.com Premium site, because the redundancy doesn’t look very professional.

    I am also curious if there is a way to remove page titles, on another WP.com account I am working on, summitptdemo.wordpress.com, which lacks the Premium upgrade. That site is private, for now, but I could invite anyone who wants to take a look. Lastly, that site needs a customized logo and logo size.

    The client is debating between getting the Premium upgrade and self-hosting on Network Solutions, so any input on that would be great.

    I have had mixed results, using the forums here, so my fingers are crossed.

    Thanks,
    Steve Keller

    Hi Steve,

    Would you like to remove all page title across the site for jonathanalter.com, or just titles on some specific pages?

    If it’s for all pages, please try adding the css below to your site in My Sites → Customize → CSS:

    .page h1.entry-title {
        display: none;
    }

    Is the private site using the same theme?

    Hey Gary…
    Thanks for the rec…will try it in a couple hours. The PT site is on Colinear, but I could switch, if you know of themes more pliable in the logo area-sense.

    Best,
    Steve

    I figured I should try the CSS, so it did not remove the page titles. This is how the CSS entry looked…did I neglect to remove the */ and /*, or something else?

    /*
    .page h1.entry-title {
    display: none;
    }
    */

    Thanks,
    Steve

    The css isn’t being used because it’s commented out.

    Please remove the /* at the top and */ at the bottom.

    Right on, Gary…thanks much. Sorry I forgot that the */ was to bracket comments…big duh, huh!?

    Anything doable on the Colinear/non-Premium site?

    If not, you’ve done me a great favor…I will tell Jonathan Alter of the sagacity of the WordPress.com community!!

    You’re welcome :)

    I had a quick look at the Colinear theme demo. The same css should work for it if you need to hide titles.

    For the logo in Colinear, it looks like the theme hard resizes it in the html rather than using than using max-height css.

    I don’t think the size of the logo could be changed with css without making it look blurry.

    If you need confirmation on that, or have other questions about Colinear, you can tag this thread with modlook in the sidebar, and a member of staff will get back to you.

    Hey Gary,
    Sorry to bother you again, but you said that the same CSS should work with Colinear, maybe assuming I had the Premium upgrade on that site. Is there a way to use CSS on a free site, other than upgrading, or self-hosting?

    Thanks,
    Steve

    Unfortunately, no.
