  Just wondering what I have to do to enable Akismet on my wordpress.com blog. Thanks.

  Askismet and I are *ONE* [trilled the spam dragon while fluttering her long eyelashes and plumping her breast]. The aksimet widget is a spam killer. We bloggers educate Akismet by marking anything that slips through it’s jaws as SPAM. When we mark them SPAM instead of just deleting then Akismet files that in memory and becomes educated enough to catch it when it happens again.

  All the widget does is count the number of spam comments it has prevented from appearing on your blog.
