What do we actually need before switching to a pemium plan from a free plan?

    I am thinking of upgrading my free wordpress plan to a premium plan, but I am confused about the requirements about the switching of plan! Do I need to buy the plan and even a domain from some host???

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

    With a Premium Plan, you can register a domain free for one year with WordPress.com. That’s probably the simplest option. Alternatively, you could purchase a domain with an external provider and then map it to WordPress.com with the Premium Plan.
