what do when you have lost your admin username and password?
-
I’m not sure what happened, but I lost my admin username and password, or rather the old ones no longer work. Anyone know what to do? I have tried the password recovery through the email, but it gives me the account of one of the contributors on my blog, one with limited access and not the admin. How is one my contributors linked to my email, but the actual admin is not?
Regardless, how do I get admin privileges back?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
Sorry to hear that. You can still regain access to your account using the Account Recovery Form. You’ll need to provide certain pieces of information to verify that you are the owner of the blog in question.
Here’s a helpful article on how to do that:

Damn, I should have posted in a wordpress.org forum..
That stuff only applies for .com I think
-
That’s correct. WordPress.COM support docs apply only to WordPress.COM hosted blogs. Your site is not hosted by wordpress.COM and you are posting to the wrong support forum.
WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there.
Resetting your WordPress.ORG password http://codex.wordpress.org/Resetting_Your_Password
WordPress.org support docs are at https://codex.wordpress.org/Main_Page
