What does an upgrade to Pro entail?
-
I need to learn more about the upgrade to pro, what services do I get?
will I be able to customize my own design/theme, add categories, what is the difference between pages and categories.
Will I be able to add media to my blog (i.e music), with an upgrade to pro?

In short, yes, you can do all of that with the Pro upgrade.
The Value Bundle/Pro upgrade includes a custom domain upgrade, as well as our Custom Design, No-Ads, Space, and VideoPress upgrades. You can learn more about each of these here:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/upgrades/You can already add categories to your blog posts by following this guide:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/categories/Keep in mind that even with the Pro upgrade, your site is still hosted on WordPress.com. This means that while you can customize any theme in our Appearance -> Themes page, you cannot upload themes and are still subject to our Terms of Service.

Thank you for the feedback – are there certain themes that are not media friendly? And what is the difference between Bueno themes and the other themes, free or premium?
-
Bueno is free, like most of our themes. It’s hard to list the differences, because there are well over 100 themes, each with their own attributes.
You can find out about all of the available themes at http://theme.wordpress.com/

You won’t lose any settings except the ones covered by the bundle, like your custom CSS settings.
-
Thank you for the quick response. Should I get a training in CSS coding in order to apply it? Or is it user friendly enough that a layman can use?
-
It’s fairly easy to use, but you do need to some css understanding:
We have the basis explained in http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/custom-css/ . That document also has links to various CSS resources which you may find useful. -
Great, thanks for the info.
One more question, is there a waiting period for the “About” section to get updated with new information? I only ask because, I’ve made changes to that particular section on the edit profile, it’s been 30 minutes and the section has not been updated. I would greatly appreciate a response.
Thanks, -
What is the best way to create categories, via the widget or post? I’ve tried both and none of the categories have appeared on my page….what am i doing wrong.
Also, I was able to fix the previous problem that I asked the question about. the one regarding updating the “About” section.
thanks a bunch!
-
The categories won’t appear on the widget until they have at least one post in them.
Try publishing your first categorized post today. :)

Thank you! I suppose I should begin posting….a bit nervous, lol.
While, I try to figure out the dashboard and making sure that my layout is just the way I like it.
Also, is the blog currently available to the public, or do I have to publish it myself?Thank you for all your help!
-
It’s open and available at http://krakkrik.wordpress.com/
You can make it private while you work on it if you want, by visiting Settings->Privacy in your dashboard.

I have a quick question (again). I would like if possible to make a slight adjustment to my blog name. Currently, the blog title is written as krakkrik, is there anyway to rewrite the name as KrakKrik?!, do note the capitalization of the first and third K – please advise if this could be done without losing the name/etc.
Thank you! -
Again my apologies for the many questions, needless to say that WordPress is quite foreign to me and I am learning as I go.
Can you tell me what exactly is Gravatar? is it equivalent to a profile picture? -
Also, is it possible to change the extension to my blog: example – http://www.krakkrik.com instead of krakkrik.wordpress.com? just wondering…..thanks
-
You can adjust your blog’s Title at Settings -> General in your blog’s Dashboard.
A Gravatar is globally recognized avatar attached to your email address. For example, look at this forum thread and look to the left. Erica, Yoav, and I have photo avatars, whereas you just have a generic one since you haven’t created a Gravatar. You can create your Gravatar at http://en.gravatar.com/
You can add a domain to your blog via Store -> Domains in your blog’s Dashboard.
