What does Brinkster have against my emails linking to my blog?

  • Unknown's avatar

Links to my blog – Rhetauracle – sabotage my emails. Brinkster simply loses all my outgoing emails where I include the link – they don’t bounce: they disappear. Also Brinkster (or Zimbra) puts all WordPress emails – e.g. new follower notifications – into the webmail junk file, despite my having added you to the preferred correspondent list.
N.B. If I use my gmail account for emails there is no problem.

    Hi there,

Sorry to hear that you’re having trouble with this! Both of these issues (the disappearing emails and the WordPress.com emails being put in your junk file) sound like a problem with Brinkster categorizing these emails as junk or spam. I recommend that you contact Brinkster directly to ask them:

    1. If your blog link is causing your emails to be caught in their spam/junk filter
    2. If they can whitelist emails from WordPress.com to make sure they go to your inbox instead of the junk file

Here is a link with information about contacting Brinkster support:

Because the emails from WordPress.com are being delivered (even though they end up in your junk file), this sounds like a problem on Brinkster’s end. If you have any questions about this, please let me know!
