What does it mean if my PHP is missing MySQL extension?

    THe only thing that shows when i ytpe in the URl is
    ‘Your PHP installation appears to be missing the MySQL extension which is required by WordPress’
    What does that mean and what do i need to do?
    In not that techy so please can you try and keep it simple!

    (Please note its not the URL seen bellow its one on a site i do with a friend so doesnt show on my acccount)

    The error you are getting tells me the site you are working on is a self-hosted WordPress install, not a site hosted on WordPress.com.

    Here’s the difference: http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

    If you go to wordpress.org/support/ they will be able to help you.

    Note: If you’ve never posted to the forums over there before, you will have to create a new username/password. Your login credentials from here won’t work.
