What does 'press this' mean??

Hi there, can anyone help a newbie? I’m not sure what the ‘press this’ icon means at the bottom of my blog. Whenever I add a new post it doesn’t seem to appear in the ‘freshly pressed’ or either of the categories/tags I’ve filed it under (food & children).
Would like to get a bit more traffic, any help much appreciated.

Whenever I add a new post it doesn’t seem to appear in … the categories/tags I’ve filed it under (food & children).
Those are very popular global Categories/Tags pages and the display on the pages is randomized as there are so many posts being published every minute of the day on those two topics.
On the bottom of your Admin page you will find a link to the Learn WordPress.com blogging Tutorial prepared by Staff. http://learn.wordpress.com/
