what does public see if I take a post out of trash and put it in edit?

  If I trash a post and then restore it and hit edit is it viewable to the public? In other words when a post is in “edit” is it on view?

  After taking it out of the trash, check at posts > all posts and see if that post is showing as “published” or as “draft.” If it is showing as published, and you do not want it to be public, then you have to change the status back to draft.

  I can’t figure out how to get out of “published” and back into “draft”. I know how to edit but and I read your answer but exactly how do I return a trashed or published post to draft so I can re-work it in private? Thanks for helping – I appreciate it!
