What does the “Blog info”->”Subscribe to blog” do?

  I have noticed that when I view someone elses wordpress blog there is an option “Subscribe to blog” in the “blog info” menu dropdown. I have been looking on line and about the only thing I can find is many people being told that this is NOT the way to set up an RSS subscription to a blog! What does it actually do?

  Blog info > subscribe to blog is so that you can add blogs to the blog surfer, and then via your dashboard it will keep you up to date on those blogs.

  If you want your visitors to be able to subscribe to your RSS feed, use the RSS link widget: http://support.wordpress.com/widgets/rss-links-widget/ .
