What happened to Appearance -> Header?
-
I went to change the header (using Twenty Twelve theme on breezesatdawn.wordpress.com blog), and the option under Appearance for the header is gone. What happened to it? Most important, how do I change the header now? And where is the announcement telling us about these changes if they are, in fact, changes?
Please tell me WordPress is not once again trying to make things more difficult for its users by adding another step (as you did with the Beep Beep Boop editor that I still don’t like to use as it takes longer and is still too small to comfortably work with on a large screen since it is clearly made for smaller devices). Which reminds me, is there any way to permanently opt out of the Beep Beep Boop editor so I can edit old posts without taking the extra step of going to All Posts and finding the old post? Clicking on “Edit” on the post ALWAYS takes me to the Beep Beep Boop editor.
Thank you.

1) The header and several other design points are customized by choosing the “Customize” option in the “Appearance” menu.
2) In regards to the editor, there should be an option on the bottom of the right sidebar to opt out (or revert) option in the bottom right to switch to the classic editor. Once you choose that option, the edit link will automatically take you there.
Let me know if you need any more clarification. I will be glad to help.

I have exactly the same troubles, since yesterday (using Coraline).
After some search I could revert the “+ New Post” to the classic design.
As “robinanne” I wish to go back to the classic “Customize” design. I wish to have “header” in my “Appearance” menu again, too.Can anyone tell me how to revert the “Customize” design and function to classic?

I do not know how, but today, “header” and “background” is back in my “Appearance”. I am so glad. Thank you, whoever did it.
