What happened to editing photo galleries?
-
Just back from holiday to find I can’t edit galleries. Put up a thread and had very helpful information from lizthefair as a result of which I have ditched Firefox for Chrome. Clearly it is still a problem for FF users.
-
Once I followed rachelmcr’s direction about clearing the cache, I could edit galleries again in my Firefox (current version).
-
Thanks for the info, though I do clear the cache regularly. Another member of my group who updates the website (different computer) had the same problem.

Hi ! Tried editing from Safari 7 & 8 and the gallery edit doesn’t work (FF31+Chrome36 works though)
-
Moving my question to this thread…
When I edit the page with the gallery on in visual mode the blue box and the “edit” button do not appear. Can anyone help?
I’m using a WIndows 8.1 PC and IE11. (Though I had the same problem when I tried Firefox 30 and 31.) -
I’m having trouble finding a post on your site with an image gallery. Can you either let me know the name of a post that has a gallery or perhaps drop a link to the post in this thread?
I appreciate the help!

Hi!
Thank you for the additional information! Two more questions:
- Can you try clearing your cache as described here?
- Can you try Google Chrome and let me know if you experience the same issue there?
Thanks for the help in troubleshooting this!

I too am having trouble editing (adding or deleting images) galleries in pages (I was able to do so before).
I use IE Version 11.0.10 on a windows 8 PC.

Hi!
If you’re having trouble editing photo galleries in your posts, please answer the following questions as it helps to debug!
- Have you tried clearing your cache as described here?
- What browser are you using? Is this problem occurring in all browsers or just your primary browser (please try Google Chrome and/or Mozilla Firefox)?
- When you’re experiencing trouble, are you using the Dashboard Editor or the WordPress.com Editor? You can tell the difference by looking at the URL in your browser address bar.
Dashboard Editor: http://yoursiteaddress.wordpress.com/wp-admin/….
WordPress.com Editor: http://wordpress.com/post
Thanks for your help!

I am very frustrated! I am using Safari on my iBook laptop and cannot edit my Gallery. I put Chrome on my iPad and cannot edit my Gallery. Trying to find the correct Help link to address this problem was a journey further into frustration! I am trying to edit the galleries on my blog pix2share.wordpress.com Hopefully, this is the right place to access info on this problem.

Hi @gdapupmom,
I’m happy to help you with this here! First, can you let me know what version of Safari you’re running by navigating to Safari (in the toolbar) -> About Safari? Next, have you tried another browser on your iBook laptop like Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox?

I am using OS 10.9.4 I am using Safari 7.0.5 I have reset Safari. I have downloaded Chrome. Nothing works. When I first open the page in Edit, I see the pencil icon flash and then the photos appear in the edit space. This is happening on my laptop and my iPads (iPad 2 and Mini).

Hi there,
The “Edit Gallery” icon will not display unless you click on the photos to select the gallery you would like to edit. I’ve created a screencast of the action here:
Could you take a look and let me know if you experience the same thing when you click on the gallery?
-
I went to the page and clicked on a photo. This time, when I clicked on a photo, it gave me the ability to edit (rearrange pix). In the past, whenever I clicked on a photo, it sent me to the slideshow. Hopefully somehow the problem was solved. As of this morning it was still not working, but now it seems to do what I need it to do on my laptop. However, when I do the same thing when working on my iPad, tapping on the pix only gives me “”select/select all/paste” is there a different system? I usually use my iPad to edit my blogs, but I’m thankful I can at least access it on my laptop.
