What Happened to my Blog Followers

Ever since I converted my wordpress.com site into a website with Bluehost hosting and wordpress.org (whatever the difference is, I have no clue) all my blog followers just disappeared into the ether. I have no idea where they went. I can find their old comments in old posts, but they are gone. I wonder if anyone knows where I can find them.

I’m not showing any WordPress.com sites under your account, so I can’t really advise.

However, if you have followers on a WordPress.com site, they’re associated with that site and it’s not data that is able to be exported elsewhere – the data is stored and accessed here on WordPress.com.

If you use the Jetpack plugin and connect the site to the same WordPress.com user account that has those followers, you can follow the steps here to transfer that data association to your new site:

    https://move.wordpress.com/move-subscribers/

NOTE: follower data is stored on WordPress.com, so you need to continue to use Jetpack to continue sending new post notifications to those followers.

    I hope that clarifies things!
