what happened to my facebook shares???

This post had several thousand shares and today the fb counter reads none – see link below. I’ve noticed with some other posts as well, another which was at several hundred now states 3 shares. What is going on?

My facebook shares continue to vanish! This post had over 10,000 K and today it reads 23. What is going on?????

There are multiple threads in the forums about Facebook counts, particularly over 1000, being inaccurate or sometimes spontaneously resetting to zero. I personally have seen at least three over the past two days, and have contributed to two of them.

So, is there any solution to this problem? I’ve read a lot of threads regarding this problem, and none of them would suggest anything to solve the problem. I’ve experienced the same thing on my blog yesterday, and I would like to find a solution.

No, there is no solution, I’m afraid. Staff are aware of it but I don’t think they believe it’s systemic.

@danellapomme – It looks like the post you mention is back to 10k shares. Can you confirm on your side as well?
We recently made some updates to http and https links. We’ve updated some code that should correct any sharing issues. If you notice a discrepancy, please post the URL to the post in this thread with some additional details.

Hi Jeremy, it fixed for a night and now is back to showing incorrect share numbers as of this morning….other posts as well…Thanks, Danielle

No- many of my other posts are still not showing their earlier share status
i.e. https://bodydivineyoga.wordpress.com/2014/08/11/free-spirits-yoga-therapy-and-girls/ – is now at zero and over 600 shares.
This post also was well over 600 shares: https://bodydivineyoga.wordpress.com/2013/03/18/yoga-ph-d-integrating-the-life-of-the-mind-and-the-wisdom-of-the-body-by-carol-horton/
Other posts like this https://bodydivineyoga.wordpress.com/2014/01/16/yoga-body-the-backlash/ – were at 10k and it is now showing only 5 k.
These fb share stats are extremely important to me as a writer they indicate the popularity of my work on social networks! Please keep working on rectifying this issue.

Another post – (https://bodydivineyoga.wordpress.com/2013/07/24/why-im-still-a-feminist-the-goddess-and-yoga/ ) one that was named one of the best yoga posts of 2013 – and had over a thousand shares- now showing a meager 12. Why is this taking so long to correct?

Hi,
The issue here has to do with how Facebook is counting, totaling, and displaying the share numbers for the http and https versions of your posts. I ran the post you mentioned through the debugger here:
https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/og/object/
The Facebook share numbers have jumped up to 171. We’re still looking into the issue, but 171 seems to be the highest number I can get it to at the moment.
