What Happened to My Post?

Earlier today I published a post titled “Another seat at the table,” but it’s nowhere to be found and I’ve received no communication from any parties indicating a reason for this. I’ve looked around and don’t see that I’ve accidentally deleted it, and since I had been working on it for some time before publishing, I know for certain that I’d saved/resaved drafts many times.
Is there a way someone can advise me on
1) The status of that post,
2) The reason for its disappearance, and
3) The reason I’ve not been warned or advised of the disappearance or its cause?I can be reached directly at “(email visible only to moderators and staff)”

Hello there,
If the post was created on the dashboard of your own blog at Dashboard > Posts > All Posts > Add New then you ought to be able to recover a lost post or page from revisions if needs be.

But if the post was created here http://wordpress.com/#!/post/ there is no means of recovery as the auto-save is not functioning there.
Always create your posts on the dashboard of your own blog at
Dashboard > Posts > All Posts > Add New
The auto-save works there and the post will be Standard post format unless you change it.Do not create posts here > http://wordpress.com/#!/post/ where the auto-save is not working and where you are creating an Aside post format.
Use an offline blog editor so you have backups on your own computer http://en.support.wordpress.com/xml-rpc/

Thank you for this help! All of your advice/directions were clear… I’m creating all posts from my Dashboard. Unfortunately, the since the missing post isn’t located in the Trash, restoring from the Trash isn’t an option. Also, the hint to pull from a revision doesn’t seem to apply because it seems you have to have that draft/post pulled up to see all applicable revisions, no?
When I look all around on my Dashboard, there’s no evidence whatsoever that the post exists or existed. I clicked “publish” from having drafted it on my Dashboard (and having the better part of 20 revisions listed), and suddenly all traces of this post are gone. Completely.

I’m sorry but if it’s not in the Trash and you have no revision there is no means of retrieving the post.
