What happened to my website?
-
I’m not the brightest when it comes to web development stuff. I got about 100 emails about renewing my website, I did that through Godaddy, who I bought the domain from now I can’t even access davidshirleyphotography.com and I have no idea what I need to do to get this rectified.
I’d love to talk to a human being and walk through this as I have a few other websites I want to build now too. So if you could call me at [REDACTED] so we could get this figured out and fixed, I’d love that, since this is my business that I have zero place to send people to now.WP.com: Unknown

Hi there. It doesn’t appear that your site had ever been hosted here at WordPress.com. It sounds like you were using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org ) but hosted elsewhere?
We cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers. But, I can get you pointed in the right direction.
Your domain registration is a separate purchase/renewal from any website hosting. If you renewed your domain through GoDaddy, they should have some record on their end of what your domain nameservers (DNS or NS) were previously. That should direct you to the company where your site was hosted.
I will note that if you had also let your hosting service lapse and you did not have a full backup of your site (including media and databases) downloaded, your content might be lost. But, only your hosting provider would know for sure, so reach out to them as soon as possible. You may just need to reset your DNS to point to their hosting as there aren’t any DNS set on your domain at the moment.
I hope that helps!
