what happened to "new post"?

I am not seeing the way I used to be able to create a new post. I used to be able to open my dashboard, click Posts on the left then “add new” and a new page would open complete with text editors, a way to add media. I see none of that any more. What happened?
It’s a blank page, the big W at the top left, a PLUS sign, a pencil icon that says “modes” when you hover the cursor, Preview then Publish at the top right, settings, jetpack. I only recognize preview and publish.
I’m using the Pilcro theme if that matters. Please help.

Is there anyone that can help me? I have worked hard over 8 years on my blog and to not be able to use it is pretty distressing.
I cleared my browser’s history and disabled the ad blocker (Ublock origin) and still I get this blank page that I cannot use to create new posts.
Please help.

okay, I managed to find a different way to create a post by clicking on the “write” at the top right and I’m seeing some of the options I used to use. But no more photo galleries?
If I am stuck with this version, is there a tutorial on how to use it?
and gosh, did I miss an email that told me this was happening? What a shock.

okay, never mind. I found the live chat and got some links. apparently an email was sent months ago that told of these changes and I never got it.
