What happened to signing up for just a user name only?
-
I used to be able to register a username only. I’m running a WordPress multisite network using WPMU Dev. I want my users to be able to sign up for just a user name at WordPress.com, but that option has disappeared. What happened to it?

Hello Tony,
Don’t think it has disappeared! When you open the signup page, there’s some text written in front of the Blog Address section:
Choose an address for your blog. You can change the WordPress.com address later. If you don’t want a blog you can sign up for just a username.
It links to the username-only signup section:

I found it. I think WordPress.com changed the primary signup process from the home page.
1. Go to WordPress.com
2. Select “Login”
3. If you do not have credentials, select “Register”
4. The new registration page appears and asks for a blog name and does not give you the option to get a user name only. See: https://signup.wordpress.com/start/?step=step-home -
