What happened to stats button?

Several people are reporting this, so I flagged it for staff attention. What browser and version are you using?

My stats button disappeared too. But it was there early this morning. The “Site Stats” button is still there, but the other “Stats” buttons is gone from the drop down list. I’m using Chrome.

If this button is being removed permanently, where do we view the stats by country?

I checked Reader and the Stats option is then available in the menu at the top of the page. It is an extra step, but the data is still there.

But WHY did it go and WHERE did it go and if this was a planned programming change – could someone in charge please explain?

The “Site Stats” link that was on the far left has now disappeared as well, but the “Stats” link is available as per kevinfromcanada only at the top now on Reader.

Apologies for the delay in responding here.

I’m not sure what you mean by the stats button disappearing. You should be able to access your stats from the far left drop-down menu under the W, or by clicking the “sparkline” that displays after your site name in the Dashboard. You can also access it from your admin bar in the Reader.

If this issue is still happening for some of you, please explain where it’s missing and I’ll take a further look.

The “STATS” option has disappeared from the drop down menu under the far left W button – that was what I was originally referring to. Thank you.

I don’t know why they’re acting like they didn’t know the stats button disappeared. As you see from this thread, ours disappeared Mar 19 but reappeared sometime a couple days later. The staff only just responded Mar 27. The “Sites Stat” link reappeared on the far left after disappearing for a couple days, but the “STATS” button is no longer on the far left side anymore for some reason. I can only get to this by going to the READER first then clicking on STATS at the top.

Yes, I’m not sure why or what, but I do know that rather than a one click ability to go to stats, one is now required to go through multiple clicks before getting there – which is, I suppose, rather a FirstWorld problem as opposed to a real issue, but, still, annoying – and it seems impossible that it could have just “occurred” without the knowledge of WordPress – thus, some explanation or having had a warning would be nice. Is this an attempt to get us to sign up for the monetized version? Will the “free” version eventually lose all track-ability and this is just a first step? Seems odd- especially since my site is FULL of ads about which I’ve no choice and for which WP is charging; but, beggars can’t be choosers – is that the saying?

My apologies, it does look like the Stats link has been removed from the W menu. Note that you can always click on the sparkline in the admin bar to get to your site stats.

Well – is there some explanation for this and might it be restored?

This item was removed from the drop-down menu as part of our efforts to remove redundant links in the Dashboard area. You can get to the stats page from the sparkline in the admin bar, as well as from your Reader (at http://WordPress.com when you are logged in).
