What happened to the automatic thumbnails and their links?
-
In the previous version of Word Press, the images I had uploaded all had a link to click and get coding for thumbnails that were links to the pages they were posted on. I cannot find that feature anywhere in the new interface. Have I missed it? Is there another way to do this without writing the code myself? I had been using the thumbnail links to posts in my sidebar and would like to continue to update them as usual.
Thanks!

Unfortunately the thumbnails aren’t created any more and are produced “on the fly” when the page is loaded for the user.
You could grab the complete thumbnail code as you would insert it into the post and use that though.

I think this is the same as my query left as a reply under ‘New Dashboard Design & March Wrap up’ on the WordPress home page. Afraid I dont really understand Cornell’s reply above so could someone help, please. The only way I can think of getting a picture to post in my sidebar is to paste into the window for a new post, grab the code off its back page and then delete the post as it is no longer wanted. My one query would be about resizing any picture I was using. I am not very good at HTML but learning all the time.
Here is my original query, which still seems to be awaiting moderation and has not had a reply. (I sent it on 5 April at 10.27pm and thought that support was open throughout the initial weekend.)
The changeover totally threw me as well as I was in the middle of writing a post and wondered what I had done. Now I am getting used to it I really appreciate the new features and it seems to be working a bit faster – much more user friendly. Great fun to know which are the most visited posts. Thanks Matt!
Just one query (at the moment), please:
Where can I find the code for uploading pictures into my sidebar that used to be found under Uploads > Links, please. Thanks in advance for the help!

Do you mean to do this after I have uploaded a thumbnail image that I had resized myself? -
I think that is the only way around this one and what I ended up doing. Upload the image into a new post, then resize and finally post the HTML into the widget. A long way round and a lot more complicated than before, but it worked for me. … but is this the only way? Can someone from WordPress help, please … Matt? Thanks!
