What Happened To The Blank Theme

Where is the Blank Theme? I can’t find it in search. Am I missing something?
This is the theme I am building all of my new domains on as I purchase them.
This theme doesn’t appear to be available any longer.
Why?
I do not find any of the other block themes useful.
I was about to purchase a new domain this evening or tomorrow and get ready to start setting it up, but now I can’t because the theme I prefer is not available. I found this out while using a new test blog.
That Blank Theme needs to be added back into the available themes. I don’t know if it was removed because it was thought to not be useful or something, but for those of us who have taken the time to learn the block system in Gutenburg, it is useful for being able to fully customize it from scratch.

Wow, thank you!! Ok so I was able to apply the Blank Canvas theme to my test blog from the link you provided. There must be a glitch in the system. When I created my new test blog, the Blank Canvas theme was not listed, and did not appear in search on the Themes page.

That is strange! I couldn’t replicate it, but please let us know if you see the same problem when you make a new site and we can look into this.

Ok I’m trying to set up another new website at tweeetz.wordpress.com and I have set it up on the Colinear theme (for now).
I am having this same situation… the Blank Canvas theme is not showing up in the themes section when I go to https://wordpress.com/themes/tweeetz.wordpress.com
It doesn’t even show up when I do a specific search for Blank Canvas. On some of my other websites (ddavidd.com – mmohz.com – yaascolor.com) all hosted here, I am using the Blank Canvas theme on those sites, and I did not have any issue finding that theme when I set those websites up. I’m not sure what is going on. I will use the link to the theme that was provided previously and try to make that work when I’m ready to change the theme from Colinear to Blank Canvas.

That sure is strange…. really strange, and I can’t replicate that.
What browser are you using and are you using any adblockers? I wonder if the word “blank” is being picked up by something designed to block something the browser…

I am using Firefox on my Windows 10 HP laptop.
I also just tried it in Firefox on my Android Phone, and same deal. I searched for “Blank Canvas”, and I was given Blask theme, and Twenty Twenty One themes as a result lol. This was not happening before when I set up those other sites I mentioned.

I forgot add that I do have adblock on my my laptop Firefox, but I had that on before and I didn’t have a problem accessing the Blank Canvas template.

Just have to ask, is it possible the Blank Canvas theme has been removed from the Themes section, and is now only accessible from this page to activate –

Also one more thing (sorry)… I have upgraded tweeetz.wordpress.com to tweeetz.com and still the same… The Blank Canvas theme doesn’t appear in search after the upgrade on the Personal plan.

I logged into your account, and I can confirm that the theme can’t be searched from the theme lookup in your dashboard, but it does show if you switch to the wp-admin view for the search: https://tweeetz.wordpress.com/wp-admin/themes.php
I’m reaching out to the theme team here to see what’s going on with the theme picker in the normal dashboard view and will give you an update once I hear back.

Hi there,
Same issue here. I can reach the theme only when I switch to the “Blog” tab in the search results and other tabs -except “Business”.
By default, it is not listed anywhere. I hope this is just an issue of re-categorizing themes.
