What Happened To The Default Avatar Discussion Setting?

  Hello,

  I was wondering what happened to the Default Avatar setting under the Settings | Discussion Setting (https://wordpress.com/support/settings/discussion-settings/2/), is it gone or has it been moved, if it is gone, then what image is used for those who have not set an avatar image?

  Hi there, those are actually in your wp-admin dashboard. Here’s a direct link:

  I guess the WP-Admin Dashboard is hidden unless you have a direct link there now?

  No, it is still available from your wp-admin dashboard:

  From the dashboard, go to Settings > Discussion and you’ll be able to land on that page.

  I thought so, but when I use that link; that setting is not there.

  The setting is there when I use the link that goes directly to the Discussion Settings, though.

  Okay, I must be able to see it still since I am staff. That may be one of the links that is no longer available as we begin to make updates to the dashboard. I would definitely bookmark the link that is provided until future updates are made for that setting to be available within the dashboard again.

  Also, any idea when the Twenty Twenty-Two theme will be available on WordPress.com?

  It is currently missing from the theme’s showcase and in search for some users (we’re currently looking into that).

  Cool :) , except I must be one of the users who it is not showing up for :( , I have a habit of checking for new themes often, even though themes are rarely uploaded here compared to years ago (I have been blogging here for over a decade). ;)

  Hi John Jr,

  Twenty Twenty-Two isn’t listed yet if you search for it in the showcase. But you should be able to activate it via the direct link Darnell gave above.

  Re the discussion settings in WP-Admin, go to Settings ->Discussion, and click Screen Options top right. If you select the Classic View option there, it will open the WP-Admin version from the menu instead of the WordPress.com version.

  That option is available for all dashboard pages that have a WP-Admin equivalent version.

  Thank you, Kokkieh, both of those things worked.

  I did not notice that link previously or that I could activate the theme from there, and I forgot about the that option for the Classic View, which is only available from certain locations, which is why I forgot. :D
