  What happened to the FREE domain names (ex, blog.wrodpress.com)??

  I don’t think there’s ever been a .wrodpress.com subdomain. When creating a free site at step 1 if you choose “Blog” you’ll be offered a free .blog subdomain. Choosing “Business” should get you the offer of a .wordpress.com subdomain. Choosing a custom domain will require a paid plan.
