What happened to the OLD plans?
-
The old plans had a mix of premium, business and e-commerce. But now it’s only pro. What happened to the old plans? Is pro the only way to upgrade now?
WP.com: Yes
Correct account: YesThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Yes you either build a free site or a Pro plan site if you wish to sell things/use plugins etc etc.
-
So there is no cheaper options now? Just 2 options of either being free or paying Rs. 13k per year!!!???? What the helll

Your site looks fine to me. I’m curious to know what feature you feel is currently missing from your site that would entail an upgrade. Such feedback might assist staff if and when they do offer paid add-ons for currently free sites. No ads? A custom domain? Personally a subdomain address ending in .wordpress.com doesn’t bother me at all, but I might be persuaded to pay a few ££s to get rid of the cheap and nasty ads WordPress.com display all over free sites.

I was actually planning to upgrade it to business or premium plan which was there before. But now it’s just showing one WordPress pro plan, no mention of business or premium plan.

The Business and Premium plans are two completely different things. The Business plan allows you to sell stuff. So does the Pro plan but at half the price of an old Business plan. The Premium plan’s main selling point was custom CSS but who needs that these days with the ever growing library of Blocks.

Hey @thebookwormsociety, we have some FAQs here, where our CEO is also gathering feedback on the changes to inform future iterations:

@themagicrobot please feel free to point folks to that thread. Thank you! -
It’s actually about the pricing! The pricing of premium is way too high for a beginner to afford.

Also, just noting the Pro plan isn’t just for selling things. It allows plugins and outside themes. So you can use that to set up a store, but there are about 50,000 reasons people use plugins with WordPress, and it lets you do those things, too.
We are getting feedback about the need for something akin to Personal/Premium, and if you need that too, please do share your thoughts in that thread. Knowing which features you needed is especially helpful. That way the people making these plans can be better informed of what you need. Thank you!
