What happened to the settings menu?

  Apparently I can now only do things like add categories when I’m saving for the first time. I am trying to define my latest post as a link, and to add more categories because the box to select categories disappeared on me before I was finished adding them. The settings menu is gone. Why is every update effectively a removal of features from previous versions? Blocking the arrow button and scroll bar when it’s at the top of the page was apparently just the beginning.

  It changed the angle brackets on HTML and then started reproducing the URL overf and over again. Who actually thought this was a helpful idea?

  And why can I not fix the typo in the above message? It’s telling me I can’t create a new topic. I wasn’t trying to create a new topic.
