What Happened to WordPress??????

What happened? It seems everything has changed in the new post writing area. Sorry, I am not tech savvy and like things simple. All of the sudden there is no photo add, no article add and no hot links that appear at the bottom of my unpublished article to hotlink to Wikipedia.

I discovered that this is not only the case with new articles, but if I go to the edit of published articles, those helps are also no longer there. Is this some way to get you to buy their premium?

The last time I published an article was a couple weeks ago, so something must have happened since then.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

There is a kind of “short-hand” writer that is accessible from the admin bar. I never use it for the reasons you have–it has little usefulness for me.

There is good news, however! If you go to your Dashboard -> Posts -> Add New, the fully functional, feature-rich editor we know and love is right there. I use that exclusively to write my posts.

Maybe I am not understanding you, but the WordPress editor I have used since I began my blog almost a year ago has changed. I don’t use any short-hand writer. What I use is 3 features that are no longer there, and not only no longer there for new posts, they are no longer there is I decide to edit an old post.

The last two items at the bottom right say, “tags,” and, “featured image.” There is no longer the option to find photos or articles via search. And the opportunity to highlight items that are listed where it says, “word count,” no longer exists.

Has anyone elses’ editor changed in this way? I tried it in Chrome, just to make sure it wasn’t something with Firefox, but it is the same.

Please help. I loved it the way it was and can’t imagine why they would delete 3 features, unless there is now a new way of accessing them? But you would think they would inform bloggers.

I hadn’t even noticed that… but I stopped using it because I wasn’t happy with the way it attributed the pictures and didn’t altogether trust it.

That would explain why there are no longer hotlinks to Wikipedia. I had assumed by your post that you could no longer upload your own media files or create your own hyperlinks with the editor. My mistake!

Thanks everyone. That was an easy fix :)

Hey, thanks for reaching out, I’ll gladly help!

The thing is, Zemanta unfortunately doesn’t work in the WordPress’s default Dashboard anymore, but can be easily re-installed via our browser extension.

It comes with all the features you’re already used to (images, in-text links, related posts & tags) and is really easy to set it up. Just follow the link to our downloads page and install the appropriate extension for your browser.

    Here’s the link: http://zem.si/PqCSDD

And please do let me know how it goes or if you have any more questions what-so-ever, since I’ll be more than glad to help you out!

    Here’s my email address: support[at]zemanta[dot]com

Take care & I’m looking forward to your reply!

    Best,
    Silvo

    Thanks Silvo, done :)

I wish there had been some notification so it wouldn’t have been so difficult. Zemanta is very user-friendly.
