What happens if I change my display name?

    If I change my display name today, will that change my name displayed on previous posts and in my past comments on other people’s blogs?
    (I would like to change my display name to bring it into line with my pen name as a writer, but I don’t understand all the consequences of doing so).
    I’d welcome advice please.
