What happens if I delete the bl**dy site and start again?
-
Hi. Still trying to set up a small 6 page site. I think I have run into a barrier by doing something stupid. I have deleted the front page post with out posting anything on it and now have a 404 error when I visit the site. I’ve been told I have to buy into custom design upgrade and use the CSS editor. I really don’t think I’m up to fiddling about with that
SO
If I delete the site and start again can I still have the same name site? And what about the domain I mapped onto the site? Will I be able to map it onto the new site? The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

No tried that. There is a posts closed message at the bottom of the box. So it seems the posts WordPress seem to accept aren’t getting to the right place. Timetheif has pointed me in direction of support pages which tell me I’m going to have to unlock this problem by buying into the custom design upgrade and I REALLY don’t think I can get my head around using this – pathetic I know!
BUT as this is a very new site and there is really nothing to it – just six pages and I’ve backed all the text up the thought occurs it may be much less grief to delete and re-form the site from scratch – no history ar stuff like that to lose and regret.
SO does any one know if I can delete and then re-use the same name for the new site.

It’s not your fault that you did not understand me. Please return to that thread and be patient. -
I know you have Timethief. The trouble is I THINK I’ve done what’s been suggested, and it hasn’t fixed my problem and because I’m faced with a comments closed message I THINK I am faced with having to do this custom CSS thing and I really don’t I’ll be able to cope with that – after all I’ve managed to mess a pretty simple blog up already! So I feel stumped.
I rather thought that delete would be forever if I did this – which is why I asked before i did it to check. I’ll go back over all the good stuff you’ve posted and see if I can fix.
Thank you for the help and patience.

Let me keep this simple. You'[ll have to trust me, though.
DO NOT DELETE ANYTHING.
Do not buy any upgrades.
Just go to your Dashboard then Posts, then Add New and write a post, anything at all. Hit Publish.
Then look at the site again.
