What happens to my content if I don’t renew?

    Hi,
    I’m considering upgrading my account, primarily to get a custom domain name.
    If I do that for, say, one year and then don’t renew, what happens?
    Will my content disappear, or will it revert to the xxx.wordpress.com?

    Hi,
    My understanding is that it will simply revert to your xxx.wordpress.com domain.
    The content is kept in a database and the address can be whatever you use as a custom domain, or the default wordpress.com domain, to access that content. So you won’t lose anything by changing the domain or letting the custom domain lapse.

    Hi there,

    As @mouli correctly said, your site will only be available through its .wordpress.com address and all of its content will be intact.

    If you downgrade from a Premium or Business plan and have made CSS modifications to your site, those modifications will be lost.
