What happens to my WordPress.com blog after paid plan hosting expires?

    Hello,

I currently have a free blog at WordPress.com and it is working fine but the ads are quite annoying, so i was considering to upgrade to the Personal paid plan. I already have a custom .com domain which i bought at another domain registrar which is currently redirecting to my free blog at WordPress.com

My questions: I will now pay for one year of Personal paid plan and after one year, if i no longer want to pay for another year, what will happen exactly? Will my WordPress.com blog be automatically downgraded to a free plan or will my blog be deleted? If my blog is not deleted, then how do i access it again? I suppose that my custom domain will no longer work, so will my current free exampleblogaddress.wordpress.com URL still work for my blog after hosting expires? I searched but i could not find any specific information about what happens after the paid plan expires.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there!

Will my WordPress.com blog be automatically downgraded to a free plan or will my blog be deleted?

Your blog will go back to the Free plan and it will use the free subdomain stabli.wordpress.com. Your content will not be affected in any way.

    I hope that helps :)

Let me know if you have any more questions regarding that.
