What happens to the tags if the widget is removed?

  After having the blog for a few months now, I’d like to remove the the tag cloud widget but wonder what happens to the tags in my posts.

  Nothing. The tags are connected to your Posts and the Tag Cloud is like an index of those tags. But, the Tag Cloud widget has an important role in keeping people on your blog. The tags in your Post link to WordPress.COM’s Tags and Categories pages instead of other Posts on your own blog.

  Oh. I see. So if I remove the tag cloud, the tags are also removed from the posts which links to WP’s tags? Is that correct?
