  If I upgrade to a paid .com site that wordpress offers, what happens to my old blog address that ofbookbabiesandmore.wordpress.com

  Are you upgrading because you want to get a new custom domain address?
  The original address will still exist and anyone using it would be automatically redirected to the new address. If you didn’t renew your paid plan at some point in the future then your content would still exist at the free address but any features you’d used that were part of the upgrade wouldn’t work any longer.
