What happens when I delete my site digtanya.wordpress.com?

I want to delete the site digtanya.wordpress.com. I have another site on wordpress hosted by bluehost. I want to delete the above mentioned site BUT I want to make sure that this will not impact my the other digtanya.com site. Thanks!

If you delete a blog here – the contents go away forever as does the address. Should not have any direct effect on the Blue Host site – but digtanya.wordpress.com. has a ton of content, seems to me to be a waste to just throw it away
Much better to set the site to “Private” – that keeps everyone out and saves the content and URL so when you change your mind and want the URL back it will be waiting for you. So many people delete a site then show up a few days later and want it back, for many different reasons.
Deleting a site here is forever
Dashboard >> Settings >> Reading >> Only visible to people I invite in >> remember to save changes

I deleted the digtanya.wordpress.com. no longer needed. do you know if it will be removed from ‘google & bing’ searches? that is what is annoying me most!!

It will take several weeks to disappear from search engines, you had a lot of content on it so search engines gave it a lot of “juice” – your new site is starting over from zero and it will take a while to build up search results
