What happens with the contents when I change the theme?

    What happens with the contents when I change the theme? We have SELA theme and want to change to IXION theme. Will the content of our web site switch automatically or do we have to copy-paste all the articles? Thank you in advance for your answer!

    Your content will be fine. Because each theme is formatted differently, you may have to re-organize your sidebar widgets. They aren’t lost, just moved into an Inactive file.

    To find them, click on My Sites at the top left corner of your homepage.

    Scroll down to the bottom > WP admin (click on that)
    Find Appearance > Widgets

    Inactive widgets can be found in the left-hand column toward the bottom. Find the widgets you need to replace and click-drag- drop where you want them.

    @educationlanditalia,

    Hi,
    In addition to the possible issue wrt widgets described by @ifmomsaysok, the Switch Themes section of the Themes support page mentions also Custom Menu location and Custom CSS as two other areas that might be affected by a theme switch.
