What have my Likes and Shares on FB and Twitter dropped drastically on a post?

  The number of my Facebook Likes on a particular article changed from over 170,000 to 56. The number of Twitter shares went from several hundred to just afew. What happened?

  The same thing happened to my blog, although I certainly never lost that many. There are several reports in the forum of this happening, but no explanation so far. Are your other post share stats the same as they were?
