WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?????

OMG… I cannot edit ANYTHING. I cannot delete, re-write, change ANYTHING. What have you people done to this site?? It’s a nightmare!!!!!

WP.com: Yes

Hi there,
I don’t see anything wrong with your site. If you’re having issues with creating or editing content, I recommend clearing your browser’s cache and try again.
-
Nope. That’s not it.
For example, when I last used posted (September, I believe) I was able to place text around a photograph. Cannot do that now. WHY? Each paragraph is now a separate block of text, like a separate entity from every other one. WHY?
-
You can put text next to an image using the Media & Text block, https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/media-text-block/
-
@cfilius, I understand that you’re referring to the Classic Editor being replaced by the Block one. Here you can read more about that:
The Block Editor allows you to do the same things as the Classic one did, plus many more. It takes some time to get used to, but we have very detailed documents to help you out:
https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/.
If you have any particular questions, let us know. We’ll be happy to clarify further.

Hi. You’re not alone in being confused by and unhappy with this change. However, all hope is not lost because you can still use the editor that you’re familiar with. The WP-Admin editor, now referred to by WP.com as the “Classic,” may be reached as described in the How to Access the Classic Editor section of the Classic Editor support page.
-
Just wanted to add two things:
1) If you want an image within a paragraph, here’s how:
https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/paragraph-block/#inline-image — you’ll also find other things you can add to paragraphs.2) We can’t stop WordPress from changing. Because the Classic Editor will go away at some point, I’d encourage you to use the block editor whenever you can. If you run into a problem or have any questions, let us know; we’re focused on providing solutions here.

I want to sincerely thank everyone who has helped me in this nightmare. I truly appreciate it. I don’t understand a word about it but, then again, using an ATM is too complicated for me. :)
-
Still have a problem. I need the text to WRAP around an image. How do I achieve this once easy effect?
-
I’ve had it. Tried to create a new blog. There is no longer a place to add tags. No place to post it to social media. The PUBLISH button no longer exists. WTF? I’m gong to have to leave Word Press and find a site designed for morons like me. I’ve tried the suggestions made and they do NOT work. I just don’t understand this at all. I appreciate the help, but I’m too stupid to grasp any of it.

Two ways:
1. As you’ve always done it, in the WP-Admin editor. To access the WP-Admin editor follow the instructions in the How to Access the Classic Editor section of the Classic Editor support page.2. In the WordPress Editor, aka the Block Editor, use the Media & Text Block.
-
@cfilius, sorry I misunderstood. You want an image that goes to the left or right, and then the text goes around it, right?
I don’t know of a way to have image _in the middle_ of a paragraph with the text wrapping around it on both sides, but you can certainly float an image to the right or left.
For that, you can just change the image alignment.
https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/image-block/#align-imagesYou can also resize the image if needed:
https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/image-block/#resize-imagesCC @musicdoc1 — it’s fairly similar to classic
-
Thanks! I hadn’t known that you could do that in with an image block over a paragraph block, although that could be a little tricky for someone just getting introduced to blocks. There’s also the Classic Block, which I’d forgotten about. It might be easier for @cfilius, given his WP-Admin experience. So there are at least four different ways.
