  I do not use WordPress very regularly and every time lately I find changes that make it more difficult to use. It has gotten to the point where I either have to find an alternative where I can have some control over the process or simply stop publishing. I realize that the significance of my stuff has a very low impact on anything, but it has been nice to be able to account for my whereabouts and what I have been doing.

  I assume you are referring to the Gutenberg editor integrated with WordPress 5.0, Please refer to this support doc here to access the old classic editor https://wordpress.com/support/classic-editor-guide/#how-to-access-the-classic-editor
