What if i register a new domain ?

  If i register a new domain, will my site’s old WordPress.com address (such as yourgroovysite.wordpress.com) be reserved and work forever with my WordPress blogsite ? or will the old WordPress address expire after a certain period of time ?

  If i register a new domain as a WordPress upgrade, can i create one or more email accounts using that new domain via WordPress ?

  Every domain mapping upgrade is for one year only when it must be renewed prior to it’s expiration date.

  WordPress.com does not provide an email a service with domains. You have to use these workarounds to add email service http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/add-email/

  Thank you … but if i maintain registration of new domain from year to year, will my site’s old WordPress.com address (such as yourgroovysite.wordpress.com) be reserved and work forever with my WordPress blogsite ? or will the old WordPress address expire after a certain period of time ?

  WordPress Support reads:

  “Your old address will still work, but we will automatically redirect traffic from your old address to your new one.”
