What if there is an advertiser that is not appropriate for my website?
-
I write a blog with consumer news about association-governed common interest communities (HOAs, condo/co-ops).
The problem is, since I have started using WordAds, an industry trade group’s ads occasionally appear on my website.
But I happen to be a vocal critic of the industry trade group! I certainly don’t want my readers to think I am soliciting advertising from this group.
What to do?
Did this trade group specifically choose to place ads on my website, or is this just generated by an algorithm?
The other ads are perfectly fine, by the way.
I’m sure other WP bloggers must have had similar dilemmas. Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi there,
Have pasted below some relevant question and answers from https://wordads.co/faq/
Can the ads fit the content on my site?
A: The ads tend to be broad national campaigns, rather than targeted local or topical campaigns. We have found that the broad campaigns pay better. That said, visitors from countries outside the US and Europe will often see targeted local ads.Q: Can I choose which ads will run?
A: While you have some control over the display of your ads via My Sites > WordAds > Settings, picking certain advertisers is not currently an option. We do our best to maintain the highest standards for ads we display through WordAds. We have the ability to block specific ads network-wide, so if you see an ad featuring inappropriate content (like sex, drugs, or violence), please make a screenshot and right-click the ad to copy the URL it’s linked to. Don’t click the ad directly, as it will probably redirect to a different URL. Once you have this information, please feel free to contact us and we’ll investigate the issue.I am tagging this question with the modlook tag on the Tags section of the sidebar for staff advice on the same.

Thanks for the modlook tag.
The ads for this trade group are very specific to the topic of my blog. And the ad also happens to be for the regional chapter of the national group — located in my state. This is not what I would consider to be a “broad national campaign,” although several of the ads are, of course.
I am pleased to see ads for other topic-specific products and services, such as ads for attorneys representing homeowners in legal disputes with their HOAs.
