What is a sidebar supposed to do or look like
-
I’m sorry for being so stupid about all this, but I simply don’t understand what I’m doing. I have moved the recent posts widget to my primary sidebar, as well as the text widget. But nothing different seems to appear on my main blog itself. What is a sidebar supposed to DO? I know what the word means in English. I thought it meant that something would show up on the side of my main blog page where my posts show up, but so far nothing does. Can someone please explain it to me without saying “man, what a stupid question!”
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Please paste the URL of your blog when asking questions here. Or (better for you) make your username link to your blog (Users > Personal Settings: scroll down to Account Details, paste blog URL in the Website field, click Save Changes).

OK. I just tried to cut/paste the main URL for my blog to the Website field in my Account details, like you told me to. I don’t know what that’ll do but I appreciate your trying to help me in any case!

What that will do is allow us to check your blog so we can give accurate replies, and allow anyone to visit your blog via your username if you comment in other blogs.

goto your dashboard and fine the left column–> “Appearance” –> “Theme Options”
and clickit appears you are experiment so for now select “two column content left” or select “two column content right”.

the sidebar is content that remains the same no matter what page or post a reader is viewing —- provided it is activated. for that page or for the whole blog. -
